Cigna Dental PPO
Under this plan, dental services are provided through the Cigna Dental PPO network. However, you can choose any dentist in any location inside or outside of the Cigna network. How much you pay for dental services depends on how long you have worked for the County, your represented group, and whether you choose a participating Cigna dentist. If you choose a non-participating dentist, you pay the difference between the amount the dentist receives from Cigna (the “allowable amount”) and the dentist’s charges. Preauthorization from Cigna is recommended for charges of $250 or more.
Cigna Dental Buy-up:
Do you need a higher calendar maximum for your dental coverage or orthodontics coverage for you or your dependents? Enhance your Cigna Dental PPO plan with a buy-up option that best suit your and your family’s need! Aside from the current core plans, employees with one or more years of service and management employees have new plans available to them.
Finding an in-network Dentist:
Not sure if your dentist is in the network? Or need to find a new dentist in the network? Seeing an in-network dentist may provide you with less out of pocket expenses. Once a year in October, employees may change from one plan to another or add dependents. During the year new dependents may be added within 31 days of marriage, birth, adoption or formation of domestic partnership, and children of domestic partners. After 31 days, the dependent cannot be added until the next open enrollment.
