Veterans, Every Day
In recognition of US Veterans service, San Mateo County Parks waives the vehicle entry fee year-round for veterans who provide proof of veteran service. Learn more
Persons with Disabilities, Every Day
Vehicle entry fees are waived for park visitors whose vehicles display a handicap placard or license plate.
Seniors, Monday through Friday
Seniors 62-years or older are not required to pay the vehicle entry fee, Monday through Friday on non-holidays.
Library Program
Park passes, which cover the San Mateo County Parks vehicle entry fee, are available for a three-week free checkout from San Mateo County Libraries thanks to a partnership between libraries and the San Mateo County Parks Foundation focused on increasing access to local parks. You also get a fanny pack that contains the pass and a map of the County's 24 parks. Learn more
Mariposa Program
The Mariposa Program provides a free 1-year park pass, which covers the vehicle entry fee, to San Mateo County residents who are recipients of Medi-Cal, CalFresh, CalWORKS, and San Mateo County Access and Care for Everyone (ACE). Passes can be renewed based on eligibility.
How to enroll: During annual verification of eligibility, Human Services Agency staff will ask if you want to enroll in the Mariposa Program. Or you can call the dedicated phone number at 650-508-3200 to request a park pass. Please leave your name and phone number and someone will return your call to verify your eligibility.
