Throughout the Realize Flood Park project's community engagement process, the design team has carefully considered the input received during meetings and from surveys and adjusted the landscape plan to reflect community needs and interests.
On Saturday, June 11, the public was invited to join the design team in the park to review the Updated Landscape Plan. Comments received at the event are being reviewed by the design team and a refined landscape plan will be presented to the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors at the July 26 meeting.
Crews have returned to Huddart Park to follow up on forest health work performed last November and December near the park entrance. Trails slated for closure include Redwood Nature Trail, and Bay Tree Trail.
On Sunday, May 8 at 6:30 pm, NBC Bay Area’s OpenRoad series with Doug McConnell will share how San Mateo County Parks is collaborating to make park and forest ecosystems healthier and reduce wildfire risk for surrounding communities.
The Quarry Park Master Plan has been posted for public review now through May 30. Attend upcoming presentations on the plan and provide comment.

At its April 5, 2022 meeting, the Board of Supervisors approved the Department’s appeal to allow an off-leash dog pilot program to proceed at Quarry Park while upholding the Planning Commission’s denial of a Coastal Development Permit for the pilot program at Pillar Point Bluffs.
On Feb 22, 2022 the Parks Department filed an appeal of the San Mateo County Planning Commission’s decision that denied the Department’s application for a Coastal Develop Permit (CDP) for off-leash dog pilot programs at Quarry County Park and Pillar Point Bluffs. The appeal requests to pursue a pilot program at Quarry Park only and not at Pillar Point Bluffs.
