Beginning Monday, April 8, Flood County Park will close as demolition begins prior to construction of the first phase of the Realize Flood Park project.
Phase one is expected to last most of 2024 and includes construction of picnic areas, a multi-use sports field, and sports courts – basketball, tennis, pickleball and sand volleyball.
Beginning April 15 installation of security fencing begins along with heavy demolition and positioning of construction equipment. The pump track is scheduled to close during this week while the surface is sealed and allowed to cure.
Access to the bike pump track will be allowed throughout most of the project. Pump track users should expect periods when flaggers halt car and bike traffic to safely move materials and equipment. In addition, the pump track will be closed for several weeks this summer while the parking areas are paved.
Fall 2024: The park partially reopens with some restrictions to newly landscaped areas.
Winter 2024: The park fully reopens.
Construction crew work hours will be Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. No construction work is scheduled for weekends and holidays.
