  • Last night we celebrated 11 great years of Multicultural Institute services to the immigrant community in North Fair Oak. I presented its founder Fr. Rigoberto Calocarivas and the Multicultural Institute with a Resolution honoring their hard work in helping transition immigrants from poverty and isolation to prosperity and participation.

Through the Day Laborer’s Programs members have contributed to the community through volunteer activities such as picking up trash at the North Fair Oaks Clean-up Event and participating in CARON'S Citizenship Academy. The Day Laborer’s also helped with our efforts aimed at reopening Friendship Park.

Due to Fr. Rigoberto and the rest of his staff efforts, residents of North Fair Oaks are now more accepting of our day laborers. Through his efforts those disadvantaged folk have found work and gain skills to become self-sufficient. The partnerships Fr. Rigoberto has built with diverse civic, business and community leaders have resulted in progress.

For the past three years, the Multicultural Institute has assisted over 684 individuals in North Fair Oaks! The Multicultural Institute represent the very best of our community values and they continue to serve all populations.

Thank you, Fr. Rigoberto, and the Multicultural Institute for your service, your commitment, and for changing lives!
