As Co-Chair of the Math and Science Workgroup with my colleague Carole Groom, I had the honor to emcee our STEM Innovation Reception recognizing teachers, providers and students in STEM programs funded by our county. We should be so proud of these innovators who dream big every day! And thank you to the STEM program being promoted by San Mateo County Office of Education and San Mateo County Offices Human Services Agency.
We honored teachers from McKinley Institute of Technology, Buri Buri Elementary, Roy Cloud Elementary, Hoover Elementary School, and Henry Ford Elementary School with Teacher Innovation awards. We also recognized teachers from Summit Preparatory Charter High School, Design Tech High School, South San Francisco High School, and Sequoia Union High School District as the Stanford Ignite Teacher Fellows. These organizations were given the Out of School STEM Program Grant awards: South San Francisco, California, Girl Scouts of Northern California, San Mateo PAL, Citizen Schools and Mid-Peninsula Boys & Girls Club. Congratulations to all!
