Mission Fusion is a gathering of arts and cultures to build bridges within our community in and around Jefferson High School in Daly City, CA. High-voltage choreography supported by daring multi-media keeps the audience on the edge of their seats. Electrifying young dancers and musicians will make you eager to go out and dance.
Founded in 2000 by Director Heike Mansel, Mission Fusion features dance performances of different cultures and art styles. This is no ordinary high school dance recital; it’s unforgettable. Each year nearly 100 high school students and 60 middle school students perform dances from countries like Cuba, Brazil, West-Africa, Jamaica, and the US. The thematic stories are shared through dances, multi-media, acting, art, and live music. The performances each year are a unique adaptation of relevant news, and social/literary events and issues. The dancers are encouraged to look deeply into meaning when they create and choreograph pieces.
